When looking to remove junk in Indianapolis homeowners will often compare all options to dispose of their waste.  One option they often explore is to rent a dumpster or buy a Bagster®?

The size of a Bagster® according to the Waste Management website is 3 cubic yards and will hold up to 3,300 lbs of debris.  It can be purchased online through Waste Management, Home Depot or Amazon or it may be purchased at many retail hardware stores across Indianapolis including Lowes, Menards and Ace Hardware.

There is a fee associated with purchasing the Bagster® as well as an additional fee when the item needs to be picked up.  Please note there are some cities not covered in the service area for pick up.  Items such as electronics and appliances are not permitted in a Bagster® per their website.

Dumpsters will come in a variety of sizes to best fit your project needs.  Typically the smallest dumpster you will find will be 4 cubic yards in size.  In addition other sizes include, 10, 15, 20, 30 and 40 cubic yard sizes.

A couple of things to consider before hand when trying to decide which route to go to dispose of the construction waste.

First item to consider is how much debris will I have?  If I am remodeling a kitchen will I be tearing out the cabinets in addition to the flooring, walls and ceiling?  Are any appliances going to be thrown away such as the refrigerator or dishwater?  Most kitchen remodels utilize a 10-yard dumpster and sometimes more depending on the size of the kitchen.

If I am cleaning out the basement what should I do?  Ask yourself this question will there be any bigger bulkier items such as a couch, loveseat, recliner, mattresses or furniture to dispose of?  If the answer is yes a 15 or 20-yard dumpster would be ideal.

Will the items I’m disposing of be heavy?  Maybe I have a lot of plaster and brick to get rid of.  Both of these items can be heavy and depending on the amount dis-guarded can easily weigh over 3 tons (6,000 pounds).

More than one Bagster® can fit into a small dumpster.
We personally have had customers call us when they ran out of room or were told that the Bagster® couldn’t be picked up for a variety of reasons.  In this case the customer ended up renting a dumpster to finish their product or simply remove the item from their property.

A recent review from a customer who purchased a Bagster®, “We purchased a Bagster to throw away unwanted items after a move but quickly realized it wasn’t big enough. I called James who was very nice and explained the sizes and costs of the dumpsters. After deciding on a 15 yard dumpster he set it up and it was delivered the next morning. They even used their truck to lift our FULL Bagster into the dumpster which saved us a lot of time and effort. The entire process was very smooth and professional. I highly recommend.”  See more reviews on our website!

There are pros and cons to both methods of disposing waste.  We recommend to consult your local dumpster provider to see which option will be the most convenient and cost effective for your particular disposal needs.
